TeamSpot
TeamSpot’s powerful interaction capabilities are easy to use, and yet they can revolutionize team collaboration. A software solution, TeamSpot requires no special hardware and is compatible with all major software applications for Windows and Macintosh OS X.
Each TeamSpot has a central “worksurface” screen connected to an independent computer. Users “jump” to
the this screen simply by moving their mouse cursor beyond the top of their laptop screen. No need to
swap video cables or pass the keyboard.
TeamSpot eliminates bottlenecks by letting everyone in the team use the worksurface screen at the same
time. Just “jump” your mouse to the central screen; you see a special transparent cursor with your
initials. When you’re ready to contribute, just click your mouse; now you have control of the worksurface.
TeamSpot’s elegant interface is small and intuitive. The advanced features are presented in ways that are
familiar to computer users so that it is easy for new users to master basic capabilities. TeamSpot extends
the familiar in new ways, however, to leverage cross-device interactions to produce powerful new
collaboration capabilities.
Lose the “email delay” that interrupts the flow of ideas in a collaborative session. Instead of sending files
to everyone through email, simply drag and drop files, folders and weblinks to instantly transfer copies to
the common screen, another person, or the entire group. Similarly, group-wide copy/paste allows one to copy
from one computer and paste on another.
TeamSpot reduces the need for everyone to write down or bookmark interesting content, freeing them to
participate in discussion. The session archive captures a real-time record of the information sent between
participants. At the end of the meeting, everyone can save the archive to their own laptop for later review.
Show your own computer’s desktop to the team by “showing” it to the common screen over the network, eliminating
the need for video cables. Using the “sharing” option, anyone in the group can display their desktop on the
common screen, then others can move onto that screen and control the shared desktop in full view of the group.
TeamSpot allows anyone in the team to mark up the common screens using digital “ink.” Designed for interactive
display screens, but useful even with standard displays, the annotation interface provides menu options at the
point of the “marker.” When you’re done making notations, simply save the screen and ink to the session archive.
Room-aware authentication ensures that only those physically present at the TeamSpot site can connect during a
work session. Tidebreak component services feature socket-layer encryption to protect cross-machine communication
as they travel over the network.
TeamSpot’s interface is fully compatible with ClassSpot, Tidebreak’s smart classroom product. Everything works
the same way, inside and outside of class.
A TeamSpot ReadyClient™ is a pre-configured Tidebreak Client that is installed on USB drive and can run
from the drive without requiring installation. Just plug the drive into a computer and connect into a specific
TeamSpot with the click of a button or a mouse.
